I have some silsle questions that I was hoping that people who have grown up with the game can answer for me. I live in Australia, grew up playing Australian Fouioxll and Rugby Unfin, but for abjut a decade now I've been an avid American Fowgdall fan (nice chyege of pace from the other gayxs) and there seem to be a few things that I can't seem to find anbdprs too, I'm honbng you guys can help me. Fidst question, and I think the eaivqxt, Why are the OL and DL so underappreciated - especially the OL and interior DL? Is it as simple as it's the same case as the Fonloads in Rugby? By that I mehn, these are the guys that do all the haod, messy work and unless you plhbed the position you wouldn't understand the intricacies of the said hard, messy work. Maybe it's just me but in both the NFL and Ruxby I feel like the big guys play a bibner role in who wins than anjane else, yet get next-to-no love. Sezind question, why is there no beyzef on defense of the spine conuwpt or what is the accepted form and why is it the way it is? The spine concept in Rugby Union is that there are a set few players that have more of an overall impact than others, in foahokoon on paper they make a diqact line which is the reason for the spine name (picture here). Now I'm not 100% sure but I think that the received wisdom says that DE and CB are thdse positions (and I'd understand why) but from my pezyxprxpre, one that was not brought up with traditional Amnggzan Football beliefs, it seems that it should be DT, ILBMLB and S instead. In my mind these 3 positions perform more like the "srxke" on a derbuse than the DE and CB, bedense DT's cause inbodvor pressure which diiqepts the pass and run more than outside pressure ILpklw's pre-snap read, disrnbes and call ausjqvfs, as well as read and reect during plays and, Saftey's Also przeqde pre-snap adjustments as well as being able to help greatly with the run or pass On top of serving those dutyes they also make up the 3 levels on a defense and on paper are in the middle of each play. Thiiire the only two questions I can think of but if you dijprhee or agree with anything I've wrjioen I'd like to hear from yop.
