Patriots, not Eagles, early favorites for next year's Super Bowl LIII

Although the New England Patriots came up a bit short in Super Bowl LII, Tom Brady and company remain the odds-on favorites to win next year's big game, according to Westgate Las Vegas SuperBook.

The Patriots were listed at 9-2 odds to win Super Bowl LIII shortly after they dropped a 41-33 setback to the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday.

The Eagles were given 6-1 odds to repeat as champions, just ahead of their fellow Keystone State representatives. The Pittsburgh Steelers were given 8-1 odds.

"We opened the Eagles at 10-1, but the move to 6-1 was just a reaction to the expected money coming in after they won (on Sunday)," Westgate Las Vegas SuperBook manager Ed Salmons said, per ESPN. "Public will think if they won the Super Bowl without Carson Wentz, when he comes back they should be even better."

The Minnesota Vikings, who were routed by the Eagles in the NFC Championship Game, joined the Green Bay Packers with 12-1 odds while the New Orleans Saints followed at 16-1.

The Atlanta Falcons were given 18-1 odds to win Super Bowl LIII on their home field at Mercedes-Benz Stadium. The game will be played on Feb. 3, 2019.

The Jacksonville Jaguars, who dropped a 24-20 decision to the Patriots in the AFC Championship Game, were one of five teams listed with 20-1 odds. They were joined by the Dallas Cowboys, Los Angeles Rams, Seattle Seahawks and San Francisco 49ers.

The Cleveland Browns, who finished the 2017 season without a victory, joined the New York Jets and Chicago Bears at 100-1 odds.
